I should be studying...

but that's not fun. So I'm writing a new blog instead. We've had a fun week. My Birthday was last wednesday (21!!)! To celebrate we went to Olive Garden with my parents for dinner and then came back to our place cake and presents. My parents got me lots of wonderful new clothes and other lovely things from Ikea. Steven got me a wonderful set of dvds with wonderful movies such as Pride and Prejudice, Emma, The Scarlett Pimpernel, and many many more. I HIGHLY recommend this collection of movies if you don't have them.

We went to St. George over the weekend and it was splendid! not very warm because of rain... but still splendid all the same. We were sad to come back to real life. So that was our week. And I hope you enjoyed this blog. The end.

A Delightful Birthday and Easter in Boulder

The past few days have been filled with many delightful festivities. Well, just two, but they were delightful nonetheless. They started last Wednesday with Steven's birthday! To celebrate, we went to Tucanos at the Gateway. It is a scrumptious Brazilian restaurant (like Rodizio Grill I am told) where many men bring you a large variety of meat. Quite fun I must say. It also has a salad bar that's probably as big as Brazil. We had a lovely time.

This is one of the meat men that was following one of the other meat men for a long time. It made us both chuckle.

Here is the man the second time around the restaurant. Obviously, Steven thought it was quite funny.
This is the HUGE piece of chocolate cake we took home with us. And yes. That is my thumb.
We had quite a fun evening. Oh! And in my efforts to become a domestic housewife I made those Happy Birthday blocks at the top. I had an enjoyable time making them.

For Easter, we got to go to my Grandpa's cabin down in Boulder for the weekend with my family. It's a little town by Capital Reef and Escalante and it's one of my favorite places to go. We got there late Friday night and left on Sunday afternoon. On Saturday we drove to Escalante to find Steven's old grandpa's house. It was quite the endeavor we went on for this little house, we were in the depths of despair because we nearly lost all hopes of finding it until Steven called his dad for instructions on how to get there. Our hearts lifted as Steven cried out, "That's it!"
And here it is.... what a cute little house. Steven used to come here all the time when he was little and it was fun to see.

After Escalante we went to Devil's Garden. We had fun climbing all over the rocks but I must admit, climbing on slick rock gives me the heebie-jeebies.

Watching Steven and Ted climb up here gave me the heebie-jeebies. But it made a for a great picture!

This is a picture of Calf Creek that is on the way to Escalante. I just thought this picture was lovely and wanted to post it.

On Sunday we went to church in Boulder, which is always an enjoyable experience because you find some interesting people there (like the man with the long mustache). Steven even saw one of his old buddies from his mission! What are the chances of that?? He was down there at his wife's grandpa's cabin...what a coincidence? I think so. I took a picture of them outside the church...with Steven's camera. So I don't have it...sorry.

Afterwards, we had a delightful dinner of roast lamb and deviled eggs and veggies and fruit and it was delicious. We drove home and were sad to come home to real life. So that is what we have been up to the past few days and we hope you all had a Happy Easter as well!

Did you know...

That bleach kills more germs and bacteria than lysol? Yes. It's true. This is one of many things I learned last night at a food handler's class. I learned many disturbing and grotesque things about food and restaurants that I wish I could forget... I heard about a restaurant that was thawing its chicken in mop buckets. Yuck. Ew. I also learned that often times your kitchen sink holds more bacteria than your toilet. This news disturbed me greatly... so great that I missed class so that I could disinfect the fridge and the sink... A worthy reason to miss school if I may say so. I wasn't about to have me or Steven die by kitchen sink infection. Nope. I'll have none of that. Needless to say, we have a very clean sink and fridge now (however, something smells in the kitchen and I don't know what it is...yuck.). Now I am going to buy a very large supply of bleach. I hope you enjoyed my little story and if you want to hear more disturbing stories let me know.
