Harry Potter Nerd and Texas Sheet Cake.

As you all know, the sixth Harry Potter movie came out this week. Have I seen it? Oh yes. I would've seen it at midnight but unfortunately the tickets were sold out so we had to settle for 12:30. My friend Heather came with us to see the movie and before we went she came over for a bit and we attempted to make Butterbeer (yes, we are nerds. but it was awesome). All it was made of was butterscotch syrup, cream soda and butter. It looked pretty, but tasted like we were drinking ONLY butterscotch. After a couple of sips it had to go. We also made peanut butter brownie cupcakes which were just excellent.
They helped keep us awake for the movie! And can I just say how much I love going to movies on opening night? We saw someone dressed as Hedwig and a house elf. I wouldn't have the guts to dress up but I enjoy it when other people do.
Me and Heather
Me and Steven... obviously.

Anyways... the movie was delightful and I loved it! there were some things that bothered me (only because they weren't in the book) but overall it is really probably the best Harry Potter movie that has come out so far.

On Thursday I got to hang out with Jillian while Steven was at an Incubus concert. We have a tradition of getting cheese fries at Training Table (which are half off right now on Mondays - Thursdays) and then making a Texas Sheet Cake! So that's what we did. Then we watched the movie Persuasion, which I borrowed from Steven's aunt Lisa. It's a wonderful movie and EVERYONE should see it. Not the old one. The new one with blondie Captain Wentworth.
This is Jillian's wall of clocks that I just had to take a picture of. They are wonderful.

Jillian is an exellent chef.
I'm not quite as good as she is.
The finished product. It was soooo so good.

Strange weekend and 5 month anniversary!

This weekend has been insane. Mainly because I've seen lots of people from High School that I thought I'd NEVER see again. It all started on Friday, with a Productions reunion. Productions was the advanced theater class at Brighton that did plays ALL year long. We did Godspell and A Midsummer Night's Dream (I was the wall.). I only did it for one year and that was enough for me. I have to admit, I don't miss the late night, everyday rehearsals and the "drama" that came with being in the theater department. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time and I don't regret doing it, but I wouldn't have done it again. So, on Friday I went to this reunion. It was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo weird seeing everyone again. So weird that I had to leave after only a couple of hours. It was fun seeing some really good friends again. It was at my friend Melinda's house, who I've been friends with since 7th grade. I saw my friend Katie Miller, who I became really good friends with doing a Midsummer Night's Dream because we found out we are both squeamish. Overall, it was fun to see people again... but weird too. I really wasn't that good of friends with most of them because......well....that's a long story. Here is the only picture I have from the event (and it really isn't mine).
Saturday was an ok day... I sat around a lot all day because I wasn't feeling good... then we went to Ikea in pursuit for dining room chairs... then went to Mimi's cafe.... Then we rented Meet The Robinsons... and then came home. Delightful evening.

Today we have officially been married for five months!!! Yay! Today we celebrated by going to TWO homecomings. The first was for my friend Russell who was a good friend from high school. I saw more old friends from high school choir and it was so fun!!!
This is us with Russ. He went to Taiwan and is having a hard time speaking English again. It's pretty funny I have to admit.

The second homecoming we went to was for Steven's cousin Matt... who I grew up with in my old ward. So we went back to my old ward for the first time since we got married. I was pretty freaked out going back... mainly because I had no idea what it was going to be like seeing Matt again and being like, "So... I guess we're related now......?" Um yeah. And that's pretty much how it went when we actually DID speak. and I saw TONS of people who I knew from High School there... the whole football team and such... And I say again... it was WEIRD.

I had to throw in this picture from Matt's homecoming party because it's just sooo cute.
How precious is this little girl??!?! Pretty darn precious I think. She is our niece and she is one of the sweetest little babies I've ever seen.

After the homecomings we went to my parent's for dinner and watched the movie Knowing. Strange movie, but exciting.

And might I just say how excited I am for Harry Potter 6 this week??? We are seeing it at 12:30 on Tuesday night and I am stoked!!!

Anyways, I should go get some sleep. ta ta!

Mission Call!!!!

My sister Katherine just got her mission call today to Oklahoma City!!!! Yay!!! We are sooo excited for her! She leaves on September 9th! crazy sauce. I'm not sure what there is in Oklahoma City... I'm sure it's fabulous nonetheless. However, Oklahoma is of course where the famous (and one of the best, in my opinion) musical Oklahoma takes place! If you haven't seen Oklahoma with Hugh Jackman in it... I HIGHLY reccommend it. I find it quite entertaining. The old Oklahoma is quite enjoyable as well... and super cheesy which just makes it even more fun to watch.

I'll be honest... I was really hoping that she'd go somewhere cool like England or Italy or Australia so that we could go pick her up and have the chance to visit a cool place! I suppose we could go get her in Oklahoma City... maybe....hmmm.......

I love this website.

Cute vintage dresses and swimsuits = heaven. I think I was born in the wrong decade.

http://www.modcloth.com/store

I saw that swimsuit and I was so excited to find a swimsuit that I liked! Then I read the price... $130 (the set of dining room chairs I want are less than that. how on earth could this swimsuit be more??). Honestly people. The dress? $175. What's a girl to do? I suppose someday when we're rich then i can afford such things. Until then... I'll just blog and dream...

Poor little bird.

Last week I was walking out to the recycling bin and this is what I found:
Poor, poor little bird. Have you ever seen something so tragic??
