A Safe Feeling

I've always thought about what it would be like moving out of my parents' home. Could my family and I feel the same feelings of peace and safety as I did growing up in my home? I want to build the same atmosphere of a safe haven that have felt. The worry of building such an atmosphere has produced many troubled, sleepless nights. That worry changed this week when my fears were calmed. Tossing and turning in bed this particular night left me parched. I rose to quench my thirst, turned into the kitchen, and like a vision, there it was.....

The Bat signal fixed on the wall.

Batman is watching over our house. At first I couldn't believe what I was seeing, but I can't think of any other explanation. I had a wonderful feeling come over me, like sweet summer rain, that everything is going to be alright. We won't have to worry safety and security because the Dark Knight is standing watch.

My predicament

Ok. So I told myself I wasn't going to post a blog more than once a week, but there is a matter at hand that needs immediate attention. Here is my predicament that I need your opinion on. On Saturday I went to Pottery Barn (I had a $40 gift card I needed to use) and I found these two adorable pillow covers that I fell in love with... and one was even on sale! How could I pass that up? I bought both and decided that I would see which one looked good with our couch. But when I got home and placed them on my couch I came to find that they BOTH look cute on it! Here is the best picture I could take of the pillows on the couch. (We already have two brown ones... and I didn't have another pillow to put the other cover on... I'm so dreadfully sorry this isn't a good picture. Anyways... the two pillows with green are the ones I bought.)

So... here's my question. Is it silly to keep BOTH of the pillows and have two unmatching pillows on the couch? Personally, I think it would be cute. I have seen some people do it and I think it looks fine. And I love both of these pillows so much! One is plain and simple and the other adds some zest to it (zest?). Anyways... please, please, please let me know what you think! It would help me oh so much.

Leroy The House Plant

This is Leroy the house plant. He is our one and only pet. But the importance with Leroy is that right now he is very sick. Symptoms: Holy, yellowish, not holding water very well, droopy and of sad countenance. At first we didn't think it was a big deal; that Leroy would fight his way through this. Unfortunately he has been getting worse. Just today he had a little accident in the kitchen, spilling his soiled soil onto the counter, spices, hot pads, and cinnamon toast crunch.
Leroy needs something to lift him up and keep his spirits high.
Please help us.
Please help Leroy.

My Favorite Things

Hello everyone! This is Annie. Steven wrote the first post because I didn't know what to say. Today I wanted to post a few pictures from our apartment... sorta. Our apartment is still covered in boxes and gift bags and such, so I decided to post pictures of my favorite things that we have(once everything is cleaned up I promise I'll post more! that could take a while though...).

This is our couch. Quite lovely if I do say so myself.
Is not this clock adorable?? I love it.
This is our cute bed skirt. I'm sorry this isn't a very good picture.
The cutest teapot and serving platter ever to be seen (thank you darcie and lisa, paige, and courtney)

My florist got me these adorable flip flops. You can change the straps! How awesome is that??

Blogs?

Hello All! We decided to give in and follow the crowd with uncontrollable blogging activity. It may not be the most conventional blog anyone has ever followed but once a month (approx.) is probably most healthy in comparison with others out there.
Anyways, we are awesome.
