Tomorrow is the big day! We will finally be graduating tomorrow! I will be saying good bye to the University of Utah for a while since I didn't get into grad school, but that's ok. It'll be great to have some time away from studying! Steven however, gets to enjoy the U for at least one more year while he gets his Masters of Information Systems!
I'm soooo excited to graduate, but I have to admit, I'm also a little sad that I'm going to be leaving the U. It's been a great 5 years and I sure have enjoyed it. I was inspired by cousin Courtney's "list of loves" for her mission, so I'm going to write my "list of loves" for the U.
To Brother Baker at the Institute for the funniest class about marriage ever... and all the random info I got about the football players.
To Dr. Napoles and all the wonderful ladies in Women's Chorus, thank you for getting me involved in the music program!
To the Pie Pizzeria, thank you for being so close to campus and having $2.00 pizza slices
To Dr. Isabella, your answer to this question I asked you in an interview once has changed my life forever: If there was one thing that students could learn from your classes, what would you have it be?
"That they have a past, a present and a future. That their past affects their present, and they have the power to determine their future. And that all along the way, the people in their lives matter."
Also, to Dr. Isabella, for getting me interested in the Human Development and Family Studies program.
To the free football games.... I will miss you. "A Utah man sir, a Utah man am I!"
To the field house... I will miss the free workouts I used to get.
To Amanda, Karrie, Nicole, and Lauren for the best marriage workshop ever created in a group project... or ever!!!
To SLCAP Headstart... thanks for letting me be an intern and for opening my eyes to a much bigger world than I am used to.
To Rock the U.... Oh wow. I never want to dance for 26.2 hours again, but thank you for showing me that I can do anything I put my mind to. And for showing me how long I can actually stay awake. AND for raising money so that we can "dance to defeat cancer."
To the entire FCS/HDFS department, I will miss you the most! :(
To Michael Chipman and Melissa Heath for teaching me to be a better singer and to relax and enjoy myself!
To Dr. Herrin for the drawing on the board about the elephant being my emotions and the little person being my rational thoughts in my brain. good times.
To the two classes: Maximizing Human Potential and Teens Coping with Depression, for showing me how much potential we all have and the importance of helping each other through out life.
And last but not least... To the parking at the U.... I actually won't miss you at all. :)
Well, I should probably go iron my gown now, wish me luck tomorrow! Next time I post I will be a college graduate! :D
great post. good luck tomorrow!
